San Diego is well known for its micro climate. San Diegan’s enjoy a very mild, consistent and sunny climate through the year. It is known to be truly one of the most consistent climates not only in the U.S. but in the world.

This is one of the main reasons that the San Diego Real Estate market has continued to appreciate and grow as one of the strongest real estate markets in the world. The Average temperatures range from about 57 Fahrenheit in January to 72 Fahrenheit in July.

Late summer and early autumn are known to be the hottest times of the year. This is without the snow and or ice experienced in other parts of the country. When temperatures have been soar this is usually caused by the high, hot easterly winds from the deserts and known as the “Santa Ana’s”.

The two very popular local sayings are “May gray & June gloom” this refers to the Fog that that is along the coast typically during these months and even into July.

The Average annual precipitation is 12 inches which is why San Diego California is a boarder line arid climate. This rainfall usually falls in the months of December through March but does vary year to year and month to month. San Diego is also subject to both droughts and floods while Thunderstorms and Hurricanes are quite rare.
